Steps to become a coach and/or Van Driver


1. Volunteer Application (Coaches and Drivers)

Fill out the volunteer application and then turn it into the District Office and they will give you a form for your fingerprints.

2. Fingerprints (Coaches and Drivers)

After receiving the paperwork from the District Office make an appointment with Lake County Office of Education.  LCOE provides fingerprinting Monday-Thursday, 9am until 3:30.

3. TB (Coaches and Drivers)

Make an appointment with your physician or the clinic to be tested for TB.  This is a 3 day process. You will get poked and then have to come back 3 days later to get results.  Provide results to the District Office. 

4. Transportation Clearance (Coaches and Drivers)

You will need to provide a copy of your driver's license and proof of insurance to the bus barn.

If you would like to be able to use your own personal car for transporting students then you need to inform Wendy at the bus yard and see if your car qualifies. 

5. CPR/First Aid (Coaches)

You will need to provide a current copy of your CPR/First aid certificates to Mr. Guerrero in the high school office.  CPR must be American Red or American Heart Association approved. Below is a local provider.

6. Complete The Online Coaching Courses

Successfully complete the CIF “Fundamentals of Coaching”. 

Successfully complete the “Concussion in Sports” course.

Successfully complete the “Sudden Cardiac Arrest” course.

Successfully complete the “First Aid, Health And Safety For Coaches” course.

Successfully complete the “Heat Illness Prevention” course.

After you have completed all of the classes and are approved by the MUSD School Board you will be sent more links to classes that need to be completed.
